'Women Who Shaped Texas Tech' Exhibit opening

Join us for an opening reception for “The Women Who Shaped Texas Tech” Exhibit from 3:30 to 5 p.m. March 9 in the University Library Croslin Room.
The exhibit, a celebration of Women's History Month, is being held in two buildings this year. The Croslin Room of the Library will host a large exhibit of artifacts, clothing and photographs related to Texas Tech women.
A smaller exhibit in the Southwest Collection/Special Collections Library will focus
on the newest group of women selected for this year's exhibit. The honorees for
2016 include:
- Marsha Sharp, former Lady Raiders basketball head coach
- Maxine Fry, first female student body president
- Hortense Williams Dixon, the first African-American to obtain a doctorate from Texas Tech
- Anne Lynch, first female Masked Rider
- Edna Gott, the first woman to achieve tenure in the Department of Economics and a founding member of the Women's Study Program
Refreshments will be served.
