Library Exhibits

Join us for an opening reception for “The Women Who Shaped Texas Tech” Exhibit from 3:30 to 5 p.m. March 9 in the University Library Croslin Room.

The exhibit, a celebration of Women's History Month, is being held in two buildings this year. The Croslin Room of the Library will host a large exhibit of artifacts, clothing and photographs related to Texas Tech women.

A smaller exhibit in the Southwest Collection/Special Collections Library will focus on the newest group of women selected for this year's exhibit. The honorees for 2016 include:

  • Marsha Sharp, former Lady Raiders basketball head coach
  • Maxine Fry, first female student body president
  • Hortense Williams Dixon, the first African-American to obtain a doctorate from Texas Tech
  • Anne Lynch, first female Masked Rider
  • Edna Gott, the first woman to achieve tenure in the Department of Economics and a founding member of the Women's Study Program

Refreshments will be served.
